Built mainly from hook and loop (Velcro) in a similar manner to the clinical trial.
Fit -
Fingers - comfortable fit, comfortable temperature, adjustable, optimized efficacy, and to the best means possible allows the use of fingers.
Wires and microprocessor - unobtrusive
PD Patient Usable - Allows solo operation without or with minimal assistance
PD Patient Maintainable - the assumption is PD partner may not reside with PD patient
Replaceable motors - Motor reliability has been a significant challenge. Powering motors with 5V may be too much as they are rated for 3V. More on this below.
Minimal Build Requirements - "off-the-shelf" products, inexpensive, minimize specialized tools and skills
Ability To Component Test - preferably PD patient capable

Challenges will occur and when they do the PD team will need means to debug, identify and address them.
Ethernet to USB Power
Powers motors at power supply voltage continuously. Use with caution! Prolonged motor use can cause over-heating and failure. From our experience
smaller 15K Hz motors get very hot!
Larger coin motors on Amazon appear to have about 30 ohms resistance when working.
Putting the motor up against your ear is a very good way of reducing "cross-talk" and determining if a coin motor is functioning.
Ethernet to LED
Allows microprocessor to power LEDs rather than motors so that the pattern is visual.
Powers motors in a predicable pattern rather than the clinical trial pattern.
Shorter lead motors force the connection to be in the velcro bends which creates both fitting and reliability issues.
Connectors allow coin motors to be swapped without tools. Not required you can solder the connections.
